World Book Day is Coming!

Every year National Book Tokens host the fantastic World Book Day and this year is no different!

On the 3rd of March it will officially be World Book Day and there are loads ways you can get involved with competitions, prizes, activities and events.

Schools throughout the country will be stocking book tokens that you can swap for a £1 book at any of the HUNDREDS of book shops taking part. There’s books about everything from Kipper to Star Wars and books from authors such as Juno Dawson, Jonathan Meres, David Baddiel and Roald Dahl. Don’t forget to check out our free book activity sheets, which include some of the fantastic 2016 World Book Day titles.

Also on the 2nd and 3rd of March its World Book Day’s Teenfest, celebrating all things teen-fiction.

Teenfest is a free online festival which will include virtual author workshop and an Instragram Author Takeover! You’ll be able to interact with writers and other fans, take part in fun challenges and get advice on writing and getting published. There is still time to register to receive updates of all the latest news and author line ups.

There’re competitions too! There is the chance to design your very own book token and the winner will have there’s made into a real book token to be distributed in shops! As well as the overall winner there will be runners-up from different age groups (up to 8, 9-12s and 13-16s) with lots of prizes to give away. Get scribbling as the competition closes on the 15th of April.

On top of all the competitions you could take part in a Where’s Wally Fun Run, Peppa Pig’s Surprise and lots of opportunities to meet authors.
